Our Union was formed in May 2003, under the name "Association of Folklore and Traditions of Aphitos". Its aim is to contribute to the preservation of our cultural heritage, tradition and folklore, as well as the natural environment.

Our effort meets with difficulties as we have to deal with the interests of some self-seekers of unorganized tourist development who attempt to sacrifice everything in order to make a quick profit. Nevertheless, we are sure that we will succeed because we have the support of the majority of the people.

The highlight of the Association's actions is its functions "Aphitos of Athitos" which take place every summer during which we offer our visitors a cultural festival with a journey through our customs and traditions and also with exhibits of many forms of art.
